We’ve been talking a lot about Africa lately, so it’s time to focus on one of the other regions of the world. Today, let’s head north to that place where the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans meet – Iceland! An easy long-weekend getaway from the East Coast, or stopover destination on the way to Continental Europe, Iceland has a lot to offer the luxury traveler.

Our favorite activity in Iceland, located just outside of the capitol of Reykjavik, is the Blue Lagoon Geothermal Spa. An afternoon spent here will breathe new life and energy into the most jet-lagged body, and we guarantee that you’ll sleep like a baby afterwards. We always purchase the Premium Entry package which comes with fluffy robes, access to the private dining room, drinks, and the algae mask. Soak, drink, eat, massage, soak, drink, facial, repeat is the basic format of the day.

  • Iceland – Land of Fire and Ice

A few years ago I visited Iceland and did the requisite Reykjavik visit, complete with a spa day at the Blue Lagoon and Great Circle tour of local volcanoes. I loved the trip, and vowed to return. But I wanted to see theBlue Lagoon2 rest of the island. I was quite pleased when I recently saw that Iceland ProCruises will be launching circumnavigation itineraries next summer. Sailing on the Ocean Diamond, this five-star luxury vessel normally spends the winter months down in Antarctica and will allow its passengers to really explore the nooks and crannies of Iceland.

I’m definitely doing the trip next year, and if you’re interested in booking an Iceland ProCruises trip, let us know. Our newly-launched Escape Artist travel concierge desk is soon to be up and running and can assist with all the necessary details. Click here to receive more information!
